General characteristics of pure aluminum
Aluminum is the main periodic element of the third cycle of the periodic table, with a face-centered cubic lattice, no allotropic transformation.
Aluminum density of 2.72g / cm3, about 1/3 of iron, so the density of aluminum-based alloys are also relatively small, usually 2.5 ~ 2.88g / cm3; but high strength, compared with alloy steel.
The melting point of aluminum is related to the purity and increases with the purity of aluminum. When the purity is 99.996%, the melting point is 660.24 ℃.
Aluminum has excellent conductivity, thermal conductivity, its conductivity is second only to silver and copper, according to the third place.
